  • The Mesa College STEM Center Opens

    On Thursday, Sept. 20, San Diego Mesa College debuted their new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Center, located on the first floor of the Learning Resource Center (LRC). The new center, which is part of the STEM Conexiones Program, will support students, particularly full-time Hispanic and low-income students, and provide them with resources to succeed in various STEM majors.

  • $727 Million Budget Will Allow District to Serve More Students with More Programs

    The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) – the largest single provider of education and job training in the region – has a new balanced budget of nearly $727 million for the 2017-18 fiscal year that extends efforts aimed at promoting student success, expands an array of programs that are putting people to work, and allows for the District to serve more students at San Diego City College, Mesa College, Miramar College, and San Diego Continuing Education.

  • San Diego Mesa College Olympians Football Defeats Antelope Valley

    San Diego, CA. — On Saturday, Sept. 9, San Diego Mesa Olympian Football team soundly defeated Antelope Valley College 24-7. This is the second win for the Olympians this season following their win against cross-town rivals the Grossmont Griffins, 32-7 on Sept. 2.

  • Scott T. Starbuck of Mesa College Publishes 'Hawk on Wire: Ecopoems' and Receives Award

    San Diego Mesa College’s Scott T. Starbuck has landed his most recently published book, Hawk on Wire: Ecopoems, on the “Editor’s Pick” list on Newpages.com. The book focuses on climate change issues and the potential that can be developed from renewable energy in the next five years. He has a passion for bringing awareness to the unsustainable practices of today’s society and draws his readers in by using a unique approach through poems from imagined ghosts.

  • San Diego Mesa College to Celebrate the Topping Out of the New Center for Business and Technology

    On Thursday, August 31st, San Diego Mesa College will host a Topping Out for the new Center for Business and Technology – one of Mesa’s final classroom building projects under Propositions S and N. The 60,000 gross-square-foot, two-story building will include classrooms and laboratories for courses in the School of Business and Technology.

  • San Diego Mesa College Welcomes Ryan Shumaker as New Dean of Athletics

    Newly hired Mesa College Dean of Athletics, Ryan Shumaker is a native San Diegan, who grew up in East County. After graduating from West Hills High School, Shumaker started his college journey at Cuyamaca College as a first generation college student where he majored in Business. He competed on the basketball team, and threw for track and field, earning All-PCAC honors during each season. Shumaker then transferred to Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (SIUC) where he threw shot put, discus, hammer, and weight for the top NCAA Division 1 College program in the country.

  • San Diego Mesa College Welcomes Back Thousands of Students, Hundreds Join in Eclipse Watching
